Through the use of a blowtorch, shadow-like forms have been traced. The heat induces a controlled oxidation of the metal surface, producing chromatic variations that allow one to "draw" without pigments, letting the material itself record the mark. The shadow is not the object, but its signal - a presence defined by subtraction rather than substance, a distortion of light, an interference in visual space. What generates that shadow often remains ambiguous, unrecognizable, and its meaning escapes clear identification. This uncertainty opens a space for reflection on how we perceive the identity of places, people, objects, and events - not as a stable essence, but as an effect, an echo, a collection of signs, traces, and disturbances in the continuous flow of information and images. Unlike the ephemeral shadow, dependent on light and destined to vanish, here the trace is fixed into the metal as a permanent memory: a scar, a thermal signature. A fossilized shadow that does not return the object, but the persistence of its absence - a visual fragment of a presence never fully accessible.
