TOÇ IN BRAIDA
A series of works made in collaboration with Greta Petiziol and Clémence Ledent, during a week long residency in Località Braida, Ovaro (IT), in August 2024. The works were presented in an event that we hosted, which included a presentation by the magazine La Seppia, different collective writing workshops and music.
We approached the work wanting to reflect on the distinction between natural and artificial: how do we inhabit our environment? Why do we call artificial what is human-made, since humans should be part nature? Which attributes do we associate with human aesthetics and which with natural aesthetics? Since we seem to establish nature and humans as separate entities, where do humans try to repress nature and where do they imitate it? And finally, how do they work together?
As of today, much of the environment we inhabit has been moulded by humankind, so to say something is set in a natural environment is just a way to say trees and grass were involved.
